Here’s how to start and complete each step in Luna’s Calling.

Two important things of note: Luna’s Calling is a weekly quest with different requirements for each step. This article will be updated with new steps as they become available. You’ll also need to finish Shadowkeep’s main storyline to begin Luna’s Calling.

The Bounty

To start the first quest in Luna’s Calling, you need to pick up the Lunar Spelunking bounty from Eris on the Moon. You’ll be directed to explore three separate Lost Sectors on the Moon.

Be aware that enemies in each Moon Lost Sector have a higher Power Level than you’re likely to possess immediately after finishing the campaign. The three Lost Sector, their locations, and their associated Power are:

K1 Communion in the Anchor of Light: Power 860. K1 Crew Quarters in the Hellmouth: Power 880. K1 Logistics in Archer’s Line: Power 870.

Here’s a map showing each Lost Sector:

The Data Fragment

Once you complete the above three Lost Sectors, you’ll receive the Firewall Data Fragment. Now, your next step in Luna’s Calling is to enter K1 Revelation in Sorrows Harbor. You’ll need a Power level approaching 890 to traverse it safely.

Once inside, you don’t have to kill anything. Instead, all you need to do is reach the boss arena and enter the pipe behind him. You’ll find a door you can now open with the Data Fragment.

In the next room, you’ll see a console with a glowing orange ring. Press and hold your Interact button (“Square” on PS4, “X” on Xbox One, and “E” by default on PC), and you’ll deposit the Data Fragment.

After depositing, you’ll receive the Memory of Sai Mota quest.

The Sequence

All current evidence suggests Eris’ memory pursuits (of which Memory of Sai Mota is the first) will have similar steps. Once you complete all the steps, you’ll return to the Sanctuary fast travel point and enter the green portal to reach Eris in the Enduring Abyss.

Below is our list of each quest’s requirements and two good ways of accomplishing each.

Memory of Sai Mota

This quest requires you to collect 20 Necklace Fragments by killing Nightmare enemies with Arc abilities. These abilities include:

Your melee when it’s off cooldown Any Nightmare kill with your grenade Any kill with an Arc-based Super

Powerful enemies (Ogres, yellow-bar Wizards, bosses, etc.) grant 3 Fragments, rank and file Nightmares (Acolytes, Thrall, etc.) grant 2. Be aware you need to be the one to hit the killing blow with your abilities for quest credit.

Farming Method 1: Patrol Sorrow’s Harbor, as Nightmare Ogres and associated Acolytes and Thrall will spawn around you reasonably regularly. Use everything at your disposal to kill as many nightmares as you can.

Farming Method 2: Head back into the K1 Revelation Lost Sector and rush to the boss area. You’ll need to kill two yellow-bar Wizard Nightmares to spawn the boss. Between 2 and 4 Acolyte Nightmares will spawn with him. Kill all of them, fast travel to Sorrow’s Harbor, and do it again.

Memory of Vell Tarlowe

After the week’s reset, and provided you’ve completed the Memory of Sai Mota quest, speak to Eris, and you’ll receive the Memory of Vell Tarlowe quest.

The first step is to complete that week’s replayable story mission. You don’t need to complete any specific mission, only the one selectable from the Moon map.

Once you’ve completed the mission, the grind commences.

For this quest, you’ll need to collect Mark Fragments by killing Nightmares in Nightmare Hunts with melee abilities. You don’t have to have your ability off cooldown for the kill to count. All you need is to make the killing blow with your melee attack.

There is no good farming method for this quest. Your best bet is to gather a fireteam and ask them to give you every Nightmare kill they can.

If you’re a solo player, this one might be a slog. Try to enter the team chat channel (voice or text as available) and ask your teammates for help.

This step will take you a few hunts, but if you’re efficient, no more than 3 or 4.

Memory of Toland, the Shattered

The third step in Luna’s Calling is to construct a notebook from the insane Warlock Toland, the Shattered. Your first step is to find and kill the Trove Guardian Knight enemy who spawns across the moon. Depending on the day, he’ll be in either Archer’s Line, Anchor of Light, and the Hellmouth.

For a detailed rundown of where to find him, check out my How to Find the Trove Guardian guide.

The short version is, you’ll need to find the Guardian, kill him, go through a short jumping puzzle, and open a chest. The chest will give you the Toland, the Shattered’s Notes quest item, opening up step 2 of the quest.

For part 2, you’ll need to use Hive Relic Sword weapons to defeat any enemy combatant.

Your best farming method is the Altars of Sorrow on the Moon. Start up the event by interacting with any of the energy wells in Sorrow’s Harbor and when you get to the Wizard killing phase, swords will spawn. Make everything dead.

Once you’ve got Toland, the Shattered’s Journal, head to Eris on the Moon in her usual spot.

Memory of Omar Agah

For week 4 of Luna’s Calling, you’ll be completing the Memory of Omar Agah quest, which consists of the following steps:

Defeat a powerful Hive Wizard with your Super anywhere in the system with  Land precision kills with Bows or Sniper Rifles against powerful opponents to collect Throwing Knives

For the first part of the quest, you can defeat any yellow bar wizard on any planet in the system. There aren’t too many easy and consistent ways to do this without the vanilla planets, but there will be plenty of boss-level Wizards that spawn in Altars of Sorrow.

Be sure you get the final blow with your super or you won’t progress the quest. Use a roaming super like Dawnblade, Golden Gun, or Fist of Havoc for best results.

For the next step in the quest, you need to collect Throwing Knives by defeating powerful opponents with Bows and Sniper Rifles. There are a few ways to farm the 20 knives you need: Guardian kills in PvP, Altars of Sorrow, or Nightfall Strikes.

PvP activities — Gambit and Crucible — guarantee progress, but you’ll still need to get 20 kills with Bows or Sniper Rifles. The former is a little inconsistent, and if your aim is lacking, the latter can be a bit of an ask.

We recommend sticking to PvE activities. Fly to Mars and boot up Altars of Sorrow for a good powerful farm, as any orange or yellow bar enemy has a fair chance of dropping the Knives you need.

Memory of Eriana 3

The fifth and final memory in the Luna’s Call questline has you hunting for momentos of Eriana-3. Start as you have the others: head to Eris Morn and pick up the quest.

Your first objective is to defeat a Lunar Scavenger enemy somewhere on the Moon. The easiest one to find is in the crashed Fallen Ketch in the Anchor of Light.

Head into the ship and make your way to the room with the destroyed Walker Tank.

Kill all the enemies in the room and go to the hallway on the left side of the room. A yellow bar Captain will spawn with a name you might recognize: Lunar Scavenger.

Take him out to spawn a chest containing the Letters from Wei Night quest step.

This second objective asks you to defeat ten Champion enemies anywhere in the system wearing a Solar subclass. The content needs to be on Hero difficulty or higher.

If you’re up for it, you can do some Exotic grinding during this step by running a few Legend or Master Lost Sectors or doing a similar number of Hero Nightfall Strikes. The choice is yours.

Once you’ve collected enough letters from slain Champions, head back to Eris in her usual spot, through the portal, and around the corner. Listen to her final stage of grief, collect your loot, and be glad you completed the Luna’s Calling questline. You’ve also rid Eris Morn of her lingering demons and banished the Nightmares from her thoughts.
