A common way to join two points together is with a wire. You can use a wire to join two pieces of metal, or you can use a screwdriver to screw the two pieces of metal together.
To group anchor points in Illustrator, use the Command (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) key and click and drag the anchor points to create a group. You can then select the group and use the grouping tools to reorganize the anchors.
Illustrator doesn’t have the ability to join points as Photoshop does. Illustrator can only connect points that are directly on the path you’re drawing.
In Illustrator, the join tool is located in the tools panel on the left side of the application.
